"Night Terrors" by Runade and Soule (Throwback)

"Constable... constable!" the angel screamed between my hands,
as her chakra drained in awful pain, I'd swing into a dream-like trance.
Sandra laid there, we'd trade stares, beast and prey in crimson light.
my blade tears through her gray hairs, "please don't stray, Mrs. Wight."
Removing her brain took some time, all the same, the skull remains,
a soothing shade of ghoulish white, somewhat stained by bloody paint.
Through the days, I'm a brutish knight, but deep inside- twisted wrong,
to keep this game from foolish minds, I must seek a life to pin it on.
"Oh, thank you! Thank you so much!" I hear a tune of trust to break,
our village witch... the perfect fit for bait in order to run away.
When the scarlet moon rules the sky, I'll plant the seed within her home,
pay a harlot to spew some lies and lead a mob to the sinner's bones.
She leaves through snow on her own, I sneak in and slight the evidence,
a commoner spots me as I'm walking out, so I reach in and slice his intestines.

"QUICK! GUARDS! THE KILLER STRIKES AGAIN!"

I must improvise with tender eyes, throwing the blade in the sewer,
"she escaped down that alleyway, red hair, her eyes maybe gray or blue or..."
My men catch the witch, the glimpse of confusion on her face feeds my high,
she fights a bit, bites and kicks, but eventually gets the hint and reads my mind...
"Oh... you slithery snake..." the gaze we share could shatter glass,
"put her in chains while I search her place, wouldn't want another disaster, lads!"

"We'll be stopping all this heresy", said the constable and deputy.
There's been murders in the village, and it's horrible for them to see..
"It's solvable, this felony", "but it's plausible, it isn't me."
"That remains to be unseen, you're responsible for necropsy"
"On who's account?" She asked helplessly, "Constance Schull and Emily."
Her response is "Bull!! Insanity!!!" This is nonsense full of jealousy!"
"Your spell book, see? It's proof enough, of monstrous brews & zealotry"
"This province shows no empathy, to those who's offense is viewed as devilry!"

They dispensed the news so recklessly, now I'm doused in gas and, my legacy?
Tarnished........ I practiced magic but medically, now I'm everybody's enemy...
a week ago I was living so restfully, everybody checked for me 'cause I had the remedy.
Now? Ain't no respect for me, say they all suspected me, I deserve the penalty...
but not when I was helping pregancies, since it was my specialty...
you'll hang me like a peasant? please. Let me see, I'll curse you all ... especially..
that constable, that dreadfully, framed me for his own pleasantries.
You like to kill!! It's destined, see? Eternity, you'll spend with me.
To you - a curse I'll place indeed, an angry beast, you'll slay, you'll feast
and all the while your mind is leashed, until the time I say "Release!"
HECATE, HECATE, I have with me the recipe, the pyres flames are fuming high
Transpire my remains to the moonlit sky, my only sacrifice of the human kind...

Lightning cracks, the end begins, as the iron chains start to singe my flesh
memorized the spell from my grimoire, teetering on the fringe of death...
I speak the words in latin, as darkness looms, masking the light of a harvest moon.
The last of my strength I can harness to, aim at my target,... the farthest too..

The moon goddess reaches down as our spirits both lift away,
the constable's back arches in intensive pain
his bones crack and pop as they shift and change.
The villagers watch in horror, his menaced face,
the beast takes over - a senseless rage...
the witch appears in his conscious as tensions race,
like "I'm the one you thought you got rid of, aye?"

My bones crack, break, like glass stained windows in a church during an Earthquake,
blood boiling and lungs coiling, I collapse in pain from the burning of cursed change.
Nail's sharper than a shark tooth, growling in a dark room hidden from the villager's gaze,
when a child enters, afraid, I whimper and strain trying not to embrace the tender taste.
My human skull shatters into fragments of teeth, flesh deteriorates into patches of fleas,
I shake off what humanity used to be like a dog fresh out of the crimson sea.
No longer able to empower control, I leap at the boy and devour him whole,
the way he digests so smoothly moves me... and taints my brain with a sour extol.
"Yes... this is your true form Mr. Constable..." the witch whispers from inside,
like a wolf chasing it's tail, I try to find her so I can pry her from my subconscious mind.

"For whom the bell tolls, but you'll never find escape
not a beggar or a saint, could lessen all the pain,
whether or not it's the error or the terror you embrace,
it still won't measure up to the pressure of disgrace.
As those who once respected you or owed you, and abide,
now loathe you and despise, and hope for your demise.
Demonized, a cynic act, so much blood, can't give it back,
hopeless thud, a timid snap, our spirits fund a wicked pact.
You'll fight your morals, it's quite the war though,
but you'll die when I die... and I'm immortal."
