ya, she was a run away
thought she could run away
start a life some day
tried to find love another way
ran away,
was never here to stay
troubles followed
the sorrows she really can't escape…
won't stay put til she dies, that page took when she cried,
on this stained book, pained look in her eyes
as she was hitting the road, quick to get up and go,
back home with the folks but never felt as alone..
promises and offerings, pardoning apologists,
the harm outdid her charm and her accomplishments..
shifts with the times, thought she did what was right
she deserved more, but we all gotta settle sometimes..
tripped on her pride, thought she'd have friends to confide
just the memories tied to what she’d dreamt of at night
says that she tried, envisioned a type of image of life
every difference divides the fracturing bits of her mind.
envy and spite, extending the depression that spikes,
empty inside, snivels and snides, bickering fights
the split she decides, as she lept in the ride
eventually they let her go, she was destined to fly..
