    A Week in Hell
    By Art.

Filed in lines, hiding behind others.
Widen my eyes, trying to find brothers,
I wouldn't lie, residing beside others,
Created a lion inside, and I would survive wonders.

    BOOM

The sound of a gun, pounds like a drum loudly
Now it's begun, men howl at the sun proudly
Astounding to some but cowards will run as we,
Listen in the distance for the feint bell that had to be rung soundly.

    I Can Hear Waves Crashing.

Cold beaches, wind sprints in old sneakers.
Soul teeters between newer and old demons.
Swollen knees, both feet colder than snow seasons
elbows bleeding, hands blistered "I'm so freezing"

    The Bell Rings.

It means they'd given in, the pain had did them in.
Their brains had reminisced their days as little kids.
Replaying images when they were brave yet innocent
but the fact remained, they were not trained or disciplined.

    We Were Different

Those of us who stayed, chose that we could change
Control our inner pain and mold it into rage
Shoulders and knees were sprained, hopelessness, disdain
Showed us to a lane that few soldiers could have slain

Calloused our minds everyday for that week
Actually time seemed to never change on that beach
Casualties died, we weren't made to be weak
Now we survive to hunt the wolves that prey on sheep

    Graduation

Drill Sargents spoke calmly for the first time in what felt like forever
Days had blended together but we felt better than ever
"What you've completed is something Jesus would never endeavor,
So when you're out in that field , remember all of the effort.
Remember when you felt like quitting, remember the horrid weather
Remember the ones who left, and the ones who held it together.
The sacrifice, the pressure, this bond no one can sever.
You now hold a trident that will shine bright as Poseidon's treasure

Whether the south or the deep north, further west or the east ports
to the tops of highest mountains, to the deepest of sea floors
You are a protector, You are a Navy Seal,
And you have earned the right to be more."

    Congratulations on surviving hell week.

    Re: RD1: Art. Vs Mac

I woke up looking around, wondering why my world is upside down
The sea and the sky are switched, I took a flight and almost drowned
The roof is the new ground and my ears are sensitive to all sounds
I now feel as light as a few pounds, I can hang off roofs lethargically
A tummy roaring so piercingly, I really see the appeal of a moth
Small bites really keeping me chronically hungry, thenceforth,
learnedly confirmed mosquitoes, flies, and beetles make a tasty broth
The wroth adversity of being a small mammal is ironically cold-blooded
Mercifully cruel, the path towards survival is cursedly rugged.

So, I fly out of this cave..

Tall mountains scratching the clouds one to each other,
I see big monkeys wrapped in colorful clothes as I hover
through the clouds and discover that the world feels lonely
they all take cover as I approach to meet them closely
as pretty as aerial views are, I can’t get anyone to know me.
But to some degree, there isn’t a difference between them and us,
they go into their caves to sleep as the moon and sun adjust
    waiting for the sunlight thrust
or the night darkness as an impulse to make fun fuss.

    What’s that in the sky?

A large thunder casts a shadow in the sky with my shape,
I wonder what’s that, should I fly fast to find that big bat?
As I scrape the top of a mountain, I see an ape with a hat and cape
Smashin’ others like grape, heroics aerobics laying them flat
    What?
he took a look at me like I’m a crook, left me paralyzed and shook
I saw myself in his mask, his chest, his tools and hooks
I told myself attack, with your best, if I lose I’m cooked

    Yet I didn’t.

    Because that was me.
